News | July 2009 | IBBM Evening Colloquium at Equatorial Hotel Penang on 17th July 2009

IBBM in collaboration with Bank Negara Malaysia (Penang Branch) organized a dinner talk for bankers in the northern region on 17th July 2009 at Equatorial Hotel, Penang.  Attended by 250 bankers,   it was a rousing success as it drew participants from Penang, Perak and Kedah.
Pn. Rosnani Mahamed Zain,  Manager of Bank Negara Malaysia (Penang Branch) / IBBM Penang State Advisory Committee gave the welcoming remark during the dinner talk.
YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Razif Abd Kadir, the Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia spoke midway through the dinner on “Rising above the Economic Challenges, Roles of the Banking Sectors”.  It elaborated on the positive outcome of the Malaysian Financial Sector Master Plan (FSMP) launched in 2001.   Other topics discussed were “Stability of Malaysian Banking System” and  “Roles of Financial Sector” towards the future economic growth.   YBhg. also urged the banks sectors to continue giving loans to their clients as this will help to  boost the country’s economic growth.
